Sierra Leone Diamond proposes to change name to African Minerals

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Sierra Leone Diamond Company Ltd said it plans to change its name to African Minerals Ltd and will hold a special general meeting for this purpose.

In a statement, the company said the name change will reflect the development of its activities across several sites on the African continent, which have the potential for the discovery of precious, base and minor metals.

It added that it is considering further strategic acquisitions in the region.

The company also reported that it proposes to limit the number of directors on its board to a maximum of ten.
