SLDC plans over 10,000 carats diamond sale towards end March
LONDON (AFX) - Sierra Leone Diamond Company Ltd said it is planning a diamond sale in excess of 10,000 carats, valued at 379.67 usd per carat, towards the end of this month.
The company also said it has received an iron ore exploration licence for an extended area to the north of the existing Tonkolili project, and that it plans to begin drilling by the end of this month.
The company has also found kimberlite deposits at Lake Popei and said it is encouraged to commit drilling there. The results of the drilling are expected to be available by the end of April.
