Assasination Attempt on APC Presidential Candidate Ernest Koroma

Reports reaching Standard Times from the Southern Provincial town of Bo indicated that the former National Provisional Ruling Council (NPRC) Resident Secretary of State, Eastern province ex-Lt. Col. Tom Nyuma and two others have been arrested in connection with an alleged assassination attempt on the life of the All Peoples Congress Presidential candidate Ernest Koroma.
According to unofficial reports from Bo, Tom Nyuma and his cronies in crime were armed to the teeth with semi-automatic pistols and were trying to sneak into the Country Inn Hotel at the Bo/Kenema Highway where the APC leader Ernest Koroma was passing the night after his campaign tour in Bo District when they were apprehended by security guards loyal to the APC Presidential candidate.
Tom Nyuma, reports say was dressed all black when he was arrested at about 4:00 am today Monday 23 rd July with two of his cronies who formed part of his ranger squad. “The hotel was in turmoil when they were arrested and if not for the timely intervention of The APC leader they would have been lynched by angry APC supporters” says one of our sources.
It has been confirmed as at press time that the Local Unit Commander of the Bo District Police Division Superintendent FUK Daboh has arrived at the hotel and the matter is now in the hands of the law enforcers.
It should be recalled that the former NPRC Resident Secretary of State Eastern province is notorious for violence and was recently deported from the United States due to domestic violence. As investigations continue we will bring you more details as it unfolds.
