River Diamonds H1 pretax loss widens on increased Sierra Leone spend
LONDON (Thomson Financial) - River Diamonds PLC reported a wider first-half pretax loss primarily due to increased expenditure in Sierra Leone associated with the exploration of the Panguma Dykes project, but said it looks forward with optimism to the coming year's activities.
The UK-based mining company posted a pretax loss of 504,009 stg for the six months ended Feb 28, compared with a loss of 331,329 stg last year, on a turnover of 9,112 stg, down from 66,234 stg. TFN.newsdesk@thomson.com kal/tsm/ms1
