Blair to visit Sierra Leone in May

The outgoing British Prime Minister, Tony Blair will visit Sierra Leone later this month, according to the country's president.

Speaking at a ceremony for the construction of a new electoral commission headquarters in the capital on Saturday, President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah stressed "He (Blair) has informed me he would come by the end of the month."
He did not elaborate on further details over the visit.
Sierra Leone is a former British colony that gained independence 46 years ago.
Prince Charles visited the country last year, pledging Britain's support for reconstruction in Sierra Leone, which endured a murderous civil war between 1991 and 2001 that left tens of thousands dead.
