Three Ukrainians killed in Sierra Leone car crash

FREETOWN, March 8 (Reuters) - Three Ukrainians were killed and two others injured when their car crashed off a bridge into a stream outside Sierra Leone's capital Freetown, police in the West African country said on Thursday.

"The three bodies of the Ukrainians and the two others who were injured were taken to Freetown by ambulance," a police official said, asking not to be named.

The accident happened on Wednesday.

The Ukrainians worked for Paramount Airlines, a small firm which operates helicopter services between the capital and Lungi International Airport on a peninsula across from the city.

The company said two of those killed were helicopter engineers while the third was an accountant. They had been visiting local beaches when the crash happened.
