Sierra Leone's VP Berewa Rejects Philip Neville's Support

Credible Sources close to the Honourable Vice President of Sierra Leone and Leader of the ruling SLPP, Solomon Ekuma Berewa, who recently returned from official trips abroad, have reliably informed Awareness Times that VP Berewa is not only appalled at the gross display of pornography published in his absence on the front pages of certain newspapers but he has outrightly decried both Philip Neville and Neville’s public proclamation last Saturday over Radio FM 96.2 that he (Neville) had always been a Solomon Berewa Fan.

Our sources report that VP Berewa upon hearing the news, allegedly stated that if it was only Philip Neville that should make him become the next President, he preferred not to be President of Sierra Leone.

It can be recalled that Neville had taken malicious pot shots at Mrs. Annie Lansana, the daughter of the Vice President to the extent of even lying that her husband Amos Lansana had stated that he was going to divorce Annie.

Neville’s recent public expression that he was going to campaign and vote for Solomon Berewa in the next elections has therefore been received with derision from all quarters of the society. Analysts say that Neville thinks that by publicly hailing Berewa, he would escape criminal charges brought against him by Dr. Sylvia Blyden for defamatory libel contrary to the Public Order Act of 1965.
