SIERRA LEONE ENSURING ORDERLY AND TRANSPARENT EXPLOITATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES

The Sierra Leone government has taken new steps to ensure the orderly and transparent exploitation of the country's resources by undertaking a comprehensive geological survey of its natural resources.

For this purpose, the government has agreed with a geological survey institute in China to carry out in collaboration with the Ministry of Mineral Resources and the Department of Geological Surveys of Sierra Leone a detailed survey of the country's mineral resources and develop a comprehensive database for Government.

Geologists from the Henan Institute of Geological Survey in China have recently arrived in Sierra Leone and have commenced their work.
