Aid for child soldiers in Sierra Leone

The Foreign Ministry of Iceland decided to support a Red Cross project in Sierra Leone by ISK 10 million (EUR 113,000, USD 148,000) this week, partially aimed at giving child soldiers a chance for a normal life. The contribution will be used for the construction of rehabilitation shelters, where children and young adults who were traumatized by the civil war are cared for, as Fréttabladid reports. At the shelter, the child soldiers will be provided with education and psychological treatments.
