Sierra Leone expects international election monitors

Elections observers from the UNDP, European Commission, the African Union and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) will monitor parliamentary and presidential elections scheduled 28 July in Sierra Leone, Development and Economic Planning minister, Mohamed B. Daramy announced here Thursday. He told a news conference that the government invited the international observers to monitor the elections because it is cognisant that "free, fair, peaceful, credible and transparent elections can greatly contribute to good governance.
