SLDC H1 pretax loss stable, co now making revenue


LONDON (AFX) - AIM-listed Sierra Leone Diamond Co Ltd said pretax loss in the fisrt half came to 1.8 mln usd, only slightly wider than the 1.769 mln reported a year earlier.
Commenting on the results, chief executive David Gadd-Claxton said: 'SLDC is moving into its revenue phase, which is anticipated will contribute to other ongoing exploration and development costs, whilst creating jobs and further investment in the country.'
The appointment of a new financial director is well advanced, the company added. FD Martin Dunham passed away in July after a short illness.
