Diarrhea Kills 29 Percent Under-Five Children United Nations Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Project Coordinator, George Saquee Wednesday raveled that 29% of all Under Five deaths in Sierra Leone are caused by Diarrhea. He made this statement at a United Nations Media Club Development Forum themed: "the root causes of the recent water shortage in Freetown." The ceremony took place at the Kimbima Hotel, Freetown. "Diarrhea is one of the major killer diseases of children in the country today," he said, adding that the disease is water borne. He said safe water covers 86% of Freetown's population.(read more)
