NO DATE YET FOR 2007 ELECTIONS Presidential Spokesman Alhaji Kemoh Kanji Daramy Monday disclosed that the constitutional powers vested in President Alhaji Ahamad Tejan allows him to declare or announce the date for presidential and parliamentary election at the dissolution of parliament. He pointed out that this is in accordance with Section 87 of the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone which states, 'a general election of the members of parliament shall not be held earlier than 30days and not later than 90days after any dissolution of parliament.' Daramy, however, noted that this is a constitutional provision and that the election dates will be announced at the appropriate time.
