Kabbah Praises Ellen Johnson-Sirlief President Kabbah has congratulated the Liberian leader, Ellen Johnson-Sirlief on their 159 Independence Anniversary celebration, a statement from State Lodge states. The event took place Wednesday. President Kabbah said the two sister countries share the same ethnical, cultural and social ties. "Sierra Leone and Liberia are strong members of the Mano River Union and Economic Community of West Africa State (ECOWAS), which makes their relationship more successful," the President said and continued, "madam President in your inaugural address last January you also described passionately, but confidently that Liberians are a strong and resilient people." Sierra Leoneans, President Kabbah went on, share the aspirations Liberians would rise from the ashes of a protracted internal devastating conflict, as the Liberian President has opened a brand new chapter in the history of Liberia and the Africa as a whole.
