Japan Sponsors "Arms for Development" in Sierra Leone

June 23, 2006 - Japanese Ambassador launches new Arms for Development programmes Project meetings with local authorities and traditional leaders during a joint field visit with Victor Angelo, ERSG for UNIOSIL and U.N Country Coordinator Ambassador Keitaro Sato, in charge of peace building in Africa and Senior Advisor to the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Victor Angelo, Executive Representative of the Secretary-General (ERSG) for the United Nations Integrated Office in Sierra Leone (UNIOSIL) and UN Country Coordinator, at a mammoth gathering in Tonkolili district, launched a Japanese sponsored UNDP project "Arms for Development" in Sierra Leone.(read more)
